Who am I? That’s a good question—I wear many hats:
Mum: Nurturer, protector, and guide to my four boys.
Wife: Partner, confidante, and fellow adventurer with my husband.
Friend: Shoulder to lean on, laughter companion, and keeper of secrets.
Business Woman: Juggling responsibilities, making tough decisions, and striving for success.
Author and Writer: Wordsmith, storyteller, and chronicler of life’s twists and turns.
Life Coach: Guiding others through their challenges, drawing from my own experiences.
Mental Health Warrior: Battling inner demons, advocating for mental well-being.
Survivor of Trauma: Overcoming adversity, finding strength in vulnerability.
‘Work in Progress’: Constantly evolving, learning, and growing.
I’ve always loved writing. Poetry has been my solace since I was old enough to hold a pencil (and not put it straight into my mouth!). But it wasn’t until now, at this ripe old age, that I began writing about it all...my “bonkers life.”
Before becoming a parent to four boys under the age of three (yes, you read that right!), I’d already experienced and survived so much. And then came the boys—three of them on the Autistic Spectrum, one with the addition of ADHD. My fourth little lamb chop takes after his dear old mother and has ADHD too!
Living this chaos? Every bit as exhausting as you'd imagine, but oh so rewarding!
Amidst the many, many, many challenges, there was wonder. My boys transformed my husband and me into better people. They taught us about love, acceptance, tolerance, and the indomitable strength of the human spirit.
The good news? We all survived...a little the worse for wear, and with more than a few battle scars, but here we are! Now my boys are in their twenties. And yes, I know I don’t look old enough (blushing slightly)—thank goodness for filters!
This blog, aptly titled “LIFE with Lisa,” captures it all: the sad bits, the happy moments, the comic relief, and the tragic twists. I’ll share pearls of wisdom from my lived experiences, along with a dash of nonsense. Because life, in all its messy and unpredictable wonder, keeps moving forward, even when you feel you want it to stand still. Bills need paying, and the world keeps turning—even when you’re knee-deep in the chaos.
So here’s to life, in all its spectacularly tangled messiness. And remember, no matter what you’re dealing with, 'the bins always have to go out!' 🧡
