Someone told me that, these days it is more socially acceptable to fart in public than it is to cough! And, after a pollen fuelled coughing fit, that had me crouching in a quiet corner of the M&S foodhall, trying to be invisible, coughing weirdly inside my mask, with my sweatshirt pulled up over my face…I can concur!

Writers Life Challenge
I am 75% through writing my life story and in a vain attempt to motivate myself into getting back to the keyboard, I began musing over what the book blurb should read like! Instead of motivating me, it’s just had me whiling away the hours thinking of solely that, as opposed to that final push … Continue reading Writers Life Challenge
Change??? Ouch!
New Year is littered with good intentions, I don’t say this disrespectfully, but in all honesty maintaining the annual resolutions is always a tricky undertaking...to say the least! “This year, I’m going to lose weight and get fit...” always a solid staple! ”This year I’m going to save money, stop buying rubbish I don’t need … Continue reading Change??? Ouch!
Autumn Lessons🍁🍂
Autumns Lesson Feel no sadness for the Autumn leaves falling to the ground Their gentle fall from life, making not a sound All life and lustre gone, no moisture running through their veins Only their resting place, a collage of gold and browns remains This is not the end of life, for the tree’s still … Continue reading Autumn Lessons🍁🍂
2nd instalment: In Sickness and In Mental Health
I held my breath as I raised my eyes from his hands to his mouth, his full lips, soft by complete contrast. Silence engulfed us for the first time that evening, my heart pounded in my chest, and a small sigh escaped my lips as we kissed. Slow and unbelievably tender, the kiss, a promise of nothing more than warmth, compassion and respect. These were alien qualities to me. My head was spinning. What the hell was happening???
In Sickness and In Mental Health
Hysteria ran unchecked as my brain raced to find a solution to this monumental problem. The more I tried to find a way out, the worse the hysteria became until finally, hyperventilating and howling noisily, I lost all control!
The End- A short Story
The End? “What a crap end to a crap year, it couldn’t get any worse, surely?’’ As we locked the gates to our failed business for the last time, and truly out of character for me, I allowed myself a glimmer of optimism as I posed the question! I should have known better than to … Continue reading The End- A short Story
“Walking in Their Shoes: A Lesson in Empathy”
Remember the old saying: “Never judge a person until you have walked a mile in their shoes.” We’ve all done it at some point in our lives and it doesn’t make us bad people; it’s easily done. But we must all be mindful of when it’s happening and consciously take a step back from judgment. … Continue reading “Walking in Their Shoes: A Lesson in Empathy”
Kick the Leaves
Practice what you preach! That’s my motto! I was doing my 10,000 steps daily (errrr, more like weekly) challenge, the other day! It’s been an overwhelming few months and I was feeling numb and exhausted, doing what must be done and little else! But then, on my walk, a cold breeze whipped right through me, … Continue reading Kick the Leaves
“Don’t you have a TV in your house?!“
I have been asked this question many, many times. I have also been asked the following: - Are you insane? - Have you got nothing better to do? - Haven’t you heard of ‘birth control‘? And the list of inappropriate questions goes on... It would seem that, having 4 children under the age of 3 … Continue reading “Don’t you have a TV in your house?!“
